Join us for our Foodways workshops! This 2-part hands-on train-the-trainer series provides traditional teachings while also walking participants through recipe development and food prep during each session.
These online interactive sessions are for:
First Nations, Métis, Inuit peoples interested in learning hands-on food skills and traditional teachings to then share with their communities
Co-op members or volunteers wanting to host workshops and learn skills to teach others
Organizations who host food workshops, seeking to incorporate traditional foods
Individuals interested in learning more about traditional food preparation methods
Community members in using traditional methods looking to incorporate regional foods (especially if you're based in Northwest ON and are in ordering range of our #LFFCmember AgriTech North in Dryden!)
Workshop 2: Berries and wild game (Friday October 14th, morning)
Preparing blueberry crisp, including teachings around blueberries, blueberry leather methods.
Preparing wild game or beef stew with complimentary vegetable-based local food side dishes
This workshop series is led by our Indigenous Relations Coordinator, Arlene Meekis-Jung.
