Our Projects
In collaboration with regional partners, LFFC focuses on community food system development to build thriving food systems rooted in co-operative principles and practises. We focus on innovation, building capacity, expanding market reach, fostering collaboration, and connecting food system actors.
Value Chain Coordination
Building equitable food systems through connection and collaboration.
Value Chain Coordination forages closer relationships between producers, processors, distributors and customers to transform supply chains into integrated value chains. We bring food value chain actors to the table to share best practices, exchange knowledge, collectively problem-solve to overcome shared challenges, and tangibly measure our collective impact to communicate our successes.

PROJECT
Decolonizing Food Systems
Standing in solidarity with our Indigenous colleagues, partners, members, associates and friends.
Building relationships with Indigenous communities as a settler-based organization comes with important responsibilities. We all can take action to uplift Indigenous voices and further our support of Indigenous peoples throughout the province and nation as a whole. We continue to work in allyship with many nations, and part of this work is in recognizing whose land we reside on, taking steps to call on our government to uphold the treaties and the agreements they’ve signed on to.
PROJECT
Providing equitable and accessible capital to local food and farm co-operatives and social enterprises
THE Local Food and Farm Co-ops launched a collaborative project with the Rural Agri-Innovation Network that mobilized capital to support the local food and farm sector. The Fair Finance Fund is a social finance fund that provides loans and mentorship to local food and farm enterprises valuing local food systems, economies, and a healthy planet. How the Fund can support these enterprises through investments from community-minded investors.
